My daughter's grandmother polls her new middle school math students every year on what they want to be when they grow up. Most of them fall into the professional athlete category but ALL of them want to make lots of money. That's when she breaks it to them that math geek Bill Gates, among others, makes way more money than maybe Tiger Woods or Deion Sanders ever did.
